I guess what I do is gardening although I’m not exactly sure if that’s what it is. Let’s just say flowers have never been my thing but give me an old farm with a frog pond and I’m in heaven. The kind with the old, gnarled up apple trees and cool grass that feels good on bare feet. I like wilderness and ecology and all that stuff too. But I’m in sort of a city and I can’t have all that but I can have some. Like overgrown elderberry bushes and sweet smells in spring and fresh greens and bird baths and lightning bugs. I don’t have much to spend nor would I want to. For me, it’s all about the challenge of covering the ground with something useful and not using too much in the way of resources. I guess this garden is the only thing that binds me with this land.
