A Piece of Land

When I first started my garden three years ago, I had no idea it could entail so much sweat, worry, science, organization, common sense and patience. Everyone says it’s a good idea to take notes and since it might help others who are starting a garden, I may as well write my notes online. Like many in the U.S., I live in a small house that sits on a rectangular plot of land. It started with a nice flat area of grass bordered by overgrown shrubs, trees and vines and became something different. It is deep, valuable and part of something much bigger. It isn’t mine but I have the power to change it. This is my story.
